Painting the Violin Red

Musicians and movie-goers alike will surely enjoy The Red Violin, a film released by Lions Gate, that opened on June 11 in New York and Los Angeles and is currently showing in Manila at selected theaters. Below is a review made by Nina Davidson of Hollywood.com. A masterful tale of a fateful violin spanning three centuries, "The Red Violin" proves that rare instrument that never strikes a false note. The magical film from French-Canadian Francois Girard opens with Italian violinmaker Niccolo Bussotti (Carlo Cecchi) putting the finishing touches on his masterpiece in the 17th century.
