He grew up learning\nand playing the drums listening to his early influences like; Roger Taylor\n(Queen), Ian Paice (Deep Purple), Terry Bozzio (Missing Person), Ringo Starr\n(Beatles), Stewart Copeland (The Police), and Neil Peart (Rush).. And to the\nmusic of The Beatles, Deep Purple, Queen, Kiss, The Police, The Jackson 5, The\nJacksons, The Commodores, Earth Wind &amp; Fire, The Eagles, Doobie Brothers,\nToto and a lot more from all types of genre.<br>\n<br>\nMckoy started playing the drums in 1981 at the age of 13 with the punk band\n&#8220;Czechzwazo&#8221;. They mostly play at the Philtrade center\u2019s Brave New\nWorld. Then became the drummer of a variety band &#8220;T.O.Y.S&#8221; (To Our\nYouth Society) in 1982 at the age of 14. He began playing professionally in\nsome gig spots like Shakey\u2019s pizza parlor, Bodega, etc. at the age of 16 with\nthe band YJOZ, then later changed their name into AMO in 1986. During these\ntimes of his career, he\u2019s local influences became the foundation of his growth\nin drumming. These Drummers were Clark Arandela, Lito Ablang, Bernard \u201cEnat\u201d\nBautista, Joselito \u201cBoy Abra\u201d Espinosa, Dinal La Madrid, Bong Santos, Samuel\nAguilar, Ewett Bonifacio, Danny \u201cResty\u201d Restituto, Tony Pascual, Winston Velez,\nEdmond \u201cBosyo\u201d Fortuno, Mar Dizon, Jong Asinas and Rene Tengasantos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>\nThen later on, the band AMO became the ZOO in 2006. But when their frontman \/\nlead vocalist, Arnel Pineda was recruited by the International rock band\nJourney, they reformed and renamed the group into AMMO doing local and international\ngigs and shows and concert tours for Arnel Pineda from 2009 to present\u2026<br>\n<br>\nBeing a Christian faith believer, Mckoy, likewise plays musical parts as a\nworship drummer for Victory Christian Fellowship &#8211; Alabang (VAMM).<br>\n<br>\nFor Mckoy, Music and playing the Drums does not end in the peak of success. It\nis an endless journey of studying, learning, and research.
