STANDARD RATES FOR AMP SESSION MUSICIANS FOR CONCERTS AND BROADCASTS (TV, DVD, ETC.)

ENGAGEMENT GUIDELINES 

  1.  Actual live performance playing time is a maximum of THREE (3) hours. Over and beyond 3 hours will result in an additional payment of ½ of show rate per extra hour. Fractions of an hour will not be considered.

Actual rehearsals are booked in 4 hour blocks (3 hours playing & 1 hour break)

2. Producers must provide the following: Minimum rehearsal is one session (4 hours)Rehearsals may be extended by half session  increments

For morning rehearsals – lunch and drinks

For afternoon rehearsals – snacks and drinks

For evening rehearsals – dinner and drinks

For run-through – snacks, dinner and drinks

For sound check only  – dinner and drinks

Travel and accommodations with corresponding meal allowances/per diems

3. Sound checks – its nature being for sound technical considerations, sound checks will be good for a maximum of FOUR (4) songs only. More than 4 songs will be considered an extra rehearsal and subject to subsequent additional industry rates.

4. Punctuality of musicians

Unless there is a prior agreement regarding time schedules, the producer is authorized to impose a fine for AMP musicians who  report for work later than the agreed upon schedule as follows:

         Per THIRTY (30) minutes late (no fractions of an hour will be considered): P300.00 fine

One (1) second after the agreed time schedule is considered late.

The producer must have a designated timekeeper who shall keep and maintain a time record of musicians. This time record must be initialed by both musician and producer or his authorized representative and shall be the basis for producer’s complaints and action against the erring AMP musician.

5. As a matter of policy and unless there is prior agreement stating otherwise, AMP does not encourage “substitutions” by its member-musicians during rehearsals and more so for the actual shows.

6. Contracts – engagement contracts between the producer and the AMP member will be required containing the following essentials aside from the basic clauses:

A. If the producer intends to cover the event through cameras and other means of recording, the event is considered broadcast   and  shall be subject to broadcast rates.

For documentation purposes, ONE (1) camera will be allowed to cover the event. The producer shall sign a document ensuring that the coverage will be for file purposes only and not for commercial use.

B. Other intentions for the concert – whether the producer intends to make a CD, VCD, DVD, video streaming or any form of audio and audiovisual (capture or recording instead) format. Failure on the part of the producer to declare these intentions in the contract will render the producer ineligible for the following group discounts for audio and audiovisual format fees:

and the producer will then have to pay P20,000.00 for audio and another P20,000.00 for audio-visual undertakings OR, a  computation of payment per track per song, whichever is lower.

C. Transfer of rights – regarding above item “B”, the producer will be allowed to transfer, sell or assign CD, VCD, DVD, video streaming or other format rights to other parties ONLY upon execution of a separate contract with the musician(s). Said contract should indicate who will be responsible for payment of above audio, audiovisual and other format fees with corresponding    acknowledgement of such party responsible.

DDown payment upon contract signing and full payment on show date are required before show time. Post dated checks will NOT be accepted;

E. If not due to Force Majeure, rescheduling of local engagement(s) shall be within NINETY (90) days after the first original show date. A new contract with the musician is required if the rescheduled engagement falls beyond 90 days;

F. Rescheduling for foreign engagements shall be mutually agreed upon by both producer and musician;

G. In cases of cancellation of the engagement for more than THIRTY (30) days prior to the engagement date, all down payments  shall be forfeited in favor of the musician.

H. If the event is cancelled in less than 30 days but more than SEVEN (7) days before the engagement date, the producer will pay FIFTY PERCENT (50%) of the total contract price to the musician, minus down payments made.

I. In cases of cancellation of the engagement within SEVEN (7) days before the engagement date, the producer will pay the full amount of the total contract price to the musician;

7. For all engagements, unless there is prior agreement stating otherwise, rehearsal time is limited to THREE (3) hours working  time ONE (1) hour break time.

8. The rates for carting instruments personally owned by the musician for recording and other engagements shall be treated as a separate business transaction between the musician and the producer.

  1. Valentine rates cover the dates February 12 to 16. And when shows are marketed Valentine’s shows in the month of February
  2. Christmas rates cover the dates December 15 to January 1 except for; December 24 and 25, December 31 and January 1 within Metro Manila- performance rate X 4
  3. December 24 and 25, December 31 and January 1 outside Metro Manila- performance rate X 8;
  4. December 24 and 25, December 31 and January 1 international- US $1,200 plus US $60.00 per diem

Note: In the absence of any prior agreement, accommodations outside Metro Manila and abroad for musicians must be Triple A approved hotels (single occupancy preferred).

Note: Per diems for foreign shows starts on the day of arrival and ends on the day of departure.

Note: Session recording rates for foreign artists will be left to the discretion of the musician and the producer. The above rates and guidelines will serve as the reference points for both AMP musicians (instrumentalists and back-up vocals) and the concert producer with the expectation that misunderstandings and miscommunication between the parties involved will be reduced to a minimum of not altogether eliminated.
